Citroen Basalt X India Launch: Citroen has launched its much-awaited Basalt X coupe-SUV with multiple engine options in India. Ranging from Rs 11.63 lakh to Rs 12.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), the Basalt X gets two powertrain options: 1.2-litre turbo petrol (with MT) and 1.2-litre turbo petrol (with AT). It also features a cruise control system with a first-in-segment speed limiter. Let's now get into the details: 

Citroen Basalt X: Price, Bookings

The launch of the new Basalt X brings upgraded features (for the top-spec Max variant), as well as a price drop across the range. Bookings for the model have been underway for a while. The Basalt X comes in a single Max variant in India. The entry-level Basalt You variant offers a naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, while the Plus is the only variant that comes with all three powertrains. Here's a look at the variant-wise pricing of the Basalt:

Citroen Basalt X: Engine

Speaking of, the Basalt X's NA engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox produces 81bhp, while a turbo-petrol unit churns out 108bhp and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Citroen Basalt X: Visual Changes, Features

Nothing much has changed on the outside, except for the exclusive 'X' badging on the tailgate.  As expected, feature upgrades on the top-spec Max include a sleek dashboard (with new pattern imprints), tan-and-black upholstery, bronze-coloured trim inserts, and Citroen Cara (an in-car conversational assistant to help drivers with vehicle health status, real-time flight status tracking, calling, and emergencies). Moreover, the second-row occupants gain from a 'Brown Marse' interior theme with winged headrests and smart tilt cushions.

Depending on the variant selected, the Basalt is also available with a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, an automatic inside rearview mirror, ventilated front seats, a tropicalised air-conditioning system capable of cooling down to 14 Degrees Celsius, Proxi-sense passive entry, a push-start system, white ambient lighting, and LED fog lamps.

Citroen Basalt X: Safety Equipment

The Basalt prioritises safety with a cruise control system with a first-in-segment speed limiter, as well as six airbags, a perimetric alarm, rear parking sensors, TPMS, hill hold assist, ISOFIX mounts, and a Halo 360-degree camera (at an additional Rs 25,000).
