CNG Cars With Highest Fuel Efficiency:  The petrol and diesel prices were recently hiked by approximately Rs 3 per litre. This was the fourth time that the fuel prices were hiked in India, and petrol crossed the Rs 100 mark with the recent hike. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) recently hiked prices of CNG by Rs 2 per kilogram, and this is the second time that the CNG prices have been increased. Let’s take a look at the 5 CNG cars with the highest ARAI-rated mileage in India.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is one of the entry-level hatchbacks sold by the brand in the country, and it is the most fuel-efficient CNG car in India. The Celerio is offered with CNG solely with the VXi variant, and it is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine. The Celerio CNG is priced at Rs 6.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. The Celerio CNG has an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 34.43 km/kg.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is the second most fuel-efficient car in the country with the highest ARAI-claimed mileage. The Wagon R is also powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency for the Wagon R CNG stands at 34.05 km/kg. The CNG iteration of the tallboy hatchback is priced between Rs 6.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 7.13 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

Another popular hatchback offered by Maruti Suzuki, the Alto K10, is the third most fuel-efficient CNG car with an ARAI-claimed figure of 33.85 km/kg. The Alto K10 is also powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine and a 5-speed gearbox. The CNG iteration of the Alto K10 is priced between Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 6.21 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire 4th generation was launched in 2024, and it has remained one of the best-selling cars in the country ever since. The Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Dzire has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 33.73 km/kg, and it is priced between Rs 8.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.89 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12 engine used in the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. However, the Swift has an ARAI-claimed mileage of 32.85 km/kg. The CNG iteration of the Swift hatchback by Maruti is priced between Rs 8.20 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
