At the ongoing EICMA 2023, KTM has revealed the 990 Duke which is poised to be one of the most powerful naked motorcycles. The KTM 990 Duke not only gets aggressive styling cues but also features a more robust engine than the 890 Duke R. The 990 Duke will be produced in KTM's main factory in Mattighofen, Austria. KTM has not revealed any plans to launch the 990 Duke for the Indian market.

KTM 990 Duke - Engine 

KTM 990 Duke is equipped with a 947 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is also Euro 5+ compliant. The LC8c engine is tuned to produce a power output of 121 bhp and 103 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed transmission with an optional quickshifter.

KTM 990 Duke - Features 

Talking about the features, the KTM 990 Duke boasts features such as LED lighting, a USB Type C charger and a 5-inch coloured TFT screen. Moreover, the KTM 990 Duke also offers five riding modes - Rain, Street, Sport with Performance and Track mode being optional. 

KTM 990 Duke - Hardware 

The KTM 990 Duke has been built on a new tubular steel frame while the subframe is made from cast aluminium and includes an airbox and air intake under the seat. Additionally, the triple clamp that connects the front fork to the handlebars is made from forged aluminium and the swingarm has also been redesigned. The 990 Duke sits on the same 17-inch wheels that are also seen on the 1290 Super Duke R with slight adjustments to fit the double-sided swingarm. These 17-inch wheels offer Bridgestone S22 tires as the standard option. The kerb weight of the KTM 990 Duke is just 179 kg.

The bike's frame is supported by 43 mm WP Apex open cartridge forks in the front with 140 mm of travel. You can adjust the compression and rebound settings using clickers located on top of the forks. In the rear, there's a WP Apex monoshock that offers 5-click adjustments for rebound and manual preload adjustment.
