Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has revealed the 296 Challenge which is the track-only variant of the Ferrari 296. Ferrari will be showcasing the 296 Challenge at its global premiere on October 28 at the Finali Mondiali happening at the Mugello Circuit in Florence, Italy. Ferrari 296 Challenge is set to debut in the Europe and North America series of the Ferrari Challenge's 2024 season and will be replacing the 488 Challenge Evo. Ever since its inception in 1993,  Ferrari 296 Challenge is the ninth model of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli.

Ferrari 296 Challenge - Engine 

The Ferrari 296 Challenge derives its power from a 2992 cc, 120-degree, twin-turbocharged V6 engine without the inclusion of hybrid technology in this track-only beast. This V6 engine is tuned to produce an impressive power output of 690 bhp and a peak torque of 740 Nm. 

Ferrari 296 Challenge - Performance 

For enhanced performance, the 296 Challenge has been equipped with an aero package that helps in creating 870 kg excess of downforce with the spoiler at its maximum angle of attack. In terms of specifications, the 296 Challenge closely resembles the Ferrari 296 GT3, however, it is based on the Ferrari 296 GTB. 

Ferrari 296 Challenge - New Features 

The 296 Challenge also introduces an advanced feature of ABS EVO Track and new CCM-R PLUS brake discs enhancing the braking performance of this track-only car. Additionally, Pirelli, a popular tyre manufacturer has specially created 19-inch tyres for the 296 Challenge for better control over the car.
