American automobile manufacturer Ford is making headlines with its plans to re-enter the Indian market. Ford is anticipated to enter the Indian market with multiple offerings such as the Endeavour SUV, Mustang Mach-e and a new compact SUV. In addition to this, they recently filed a design patent for what appears to be a new MPV, not available anywhere else globally. This could be a part of their new projects specifically designed for India, with local manufacturing intended for both domestic and international sales.

According to a report by Motorbeam, in the design patent filed, MPV's front fascia looks sleek with stylish headlights, a large Ford grille and a well-designed bumper. It also features a massive panoramic sunroof and a shark fin antenna. The side view shows a long body with subtle lines and cladding on the lower half. However, the wheels seem small compared to the overall size of the MPV.
This Ford MPV is anticipated to be introduced to target the segment of cars like the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, Toyota Rumion, and Kia Carens. There's no official confirmation from Ford yet regarding an upcoming MPV. However, if they can offer competitive pricing along with advanced technology and fuel-efficient engine options, they could capture the hearts of Indian customers.
Ford Endeavour
Additionally, Ford plans to reintroduce the Endeavour in its new generation version, named Everest internationally. Initially, it will be imported directly and compete directly with the Toyota Fortuner. However, due to CBU (Completely Built Unit) taxes, the pricing is expected to be on the higher side.

Ford Compact SUV
Ford has also patented a compact SUV to take on the Hyundai Creta segment. A prototype was seen before they left the Indian market. They might revive this project with slight design changes to launch it as the successor to the Ford EcoSport in India, focusing on localised production.
