Hyundai recently announced that all upcoming Hyundai cars will now get 6 airbags as standard after the Hyundai Verna scored a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP tests. Now Hyundai has announced that by 2025 the entire Hyundai vehicle line-up will come equipped with ADAS. 

Hyundai has adopted a new strategy for enhanced safety with more focus on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS and the standardisation of key safety features such as ESC, VSM, and Hill-start assist across all models and variants. Hyundai believes that these features have proven highly effective in accident prevention. ADAS is currently available in five Hyundai models, with plans to incorporate ADAS in 60 percent of its lineup by 2024.

Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India commented on this initiative saying, “Hyundai is the first mass OEM to offer ADAS in a sub-4m SUV – the Hyundai Venue – thereby making it India's most affordable SUV equipped with ADAS. This is clearly a big leap towards democratisation of advanced safety features. We aim for 100 percent coverage across the line-up.” 

Hyundai Bluelink 

He also stated that Hyundai is among the first OEMs in India to introduce Bluelink connected car technology in 2019 that offers advanced safety features like stolen vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, SOS and emergency assistance. Currently, 80 percent of Hyundai's line-up in India offers Bluelink as an optional feature with plans to make it available in all vehicles.

Hyundai Safety Features

Hyundai also aims to expand the incorporation of safety technologies like surround view monitor, blind spot detection, electronic parking brake, and front parking sensors to more models. Key safety features, including Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), rear camera, three-point seat belts, and seat belt reminders are already available across all Hyundai models. For enhanced child protection, ISOFIX child seat anchorages are also available optionally.
