Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch two new models in the country, the Mercedes GLA and the AMG GLE 53 Coupe. The manufacturer has revealed that it will be launching both these models on January 31, 2024. In addition to this, Mercedes-Benz also launched the GLS facelift for the Indian market on January 8. The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift has been launched at a starting price of Rs 1.32 crore ex-showroom.
Mercedes-Benz GLA Facelift
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the GLA facelift for all international markets in May 2023, revealing prominent design changes mainly at the front fascia of the SUV. The Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift features comprehensive LED lighting and a departure from the outgoing version's black plastic wheel arches, now painted to match the car's exterior color. Moving inside, while the interior modifications are minimal, it introduces an upgraded MBUX infotainment system, interior ambient lighting and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The powertrain configuration of the Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift is anticipated to remain unchanged. It is currently offered with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Both these engines are capable of producing a power output of 163 bhp and 190 bhp, respectively. Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift prices are expected to fall in the range of Rs 45 lakh to Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe
Like the GLA facelift, Mercedes-Benz also unveiled the GLE Coupe facelift last year for all global markets. Mercedes-Benz launched the standard GLE facelift for the Indian market in November 2023. The GLE and GLE Coupe share a nearly identical front-fascia design but the SUV-coupe distinguishes itself with a distinctive swooping roofline visible at the side and rear. In India, the GLE Coupe will exclusively be offered in its high-performance AMG variant, with the 53 moniker.

It is expected to be powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid system that will produce a combined power output of 457 bhp. It is likely that it will retain its 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic AWD system. This configuration suggests that the pre-facelift model's 0-100kph time of 5.3 seconds is likely to remain unchanged. In terms of pricing, it is expected that the AMG GLE 53 Coupe price will start around Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom).
