Dhanteras 2025 Car Sales:  This festive season has turned out to be the superlative for the Indian automobile industry in terms of sales. While the largest car manufacturer in India, Maruti Suzuki, has recorded the highest single-day sale, other brands have also recorded significant growth. Let’s take a look at the Dhanteras 2025 car sales.

Dhanteras 2025: Maruti Suzuki’s Record

As per Maruti Suzuki, the brand will cross the 50,000 sales milestone on the occasion of Dhanteras 2025. As per the sales and marketing head, Partho Banerjee, the company delivered around 38,500 units by the end of yesterday evening, and the day might have ended with the delivery of more than 41,000 cars. He also said that around 10,000 customers will receive their cars today. Last year, Maruti Suzuki sold 41,500 units, whereas this year the brand seems to have already crossed its last year’s sales.

Dhanteras 2025: Hyundai And Tata

Hyundai, the South Korean car manufacturer, also witnessed a surge in its sales on the occasion of Dhanteras 2025. As per Tarun Garg, whole-time COO of HMIL (Hyundai Motor India Limited) ‘We expect to deliver around 14,000 units this Dhanteras, which is 20 per cent higher than the previous year. This exciting atmosphere is possible due to the strong market sentiments and GST 2.0.’ Tata Motors, on the other hand, is expecting a 30 per cent increase in its sales this year. As per Amit Kamat, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. "This year, Dhanteras and Diwali deliveries are spread over two - three days in line with the auspicious mahurats. Overall demand has been robust, and the GST 2.0 reform has further provided positive momentum. We expect to deliver over 25,000 vehicles during this period."

Record-Breaking Dhanteras 2025: Reason

The Indian government announced a reduction in GST rates with effect from September 22, 2025. As soon as the festive season began with the commencement of Navratri, the automobile sector began witnessing its strongest festive season till now. While Maruti Suzuki cars became affordable by up to Rs 1.29 lakh, post the implementation of GST 2.0, the Hyundai cars became affordable by up to Rs 2.4 lakh. Tata Motors, on the other hand, recorded a reduction of up to Rs 1.55 lakh across its portfolio.
