Skoda Auto India currently sells three vehicles in India - Slavia sedan, Kushaq mid-size SUV and Kodiaq full-size SUV in the country. The Czech automaker is now planning to enter the compact SUV segment after the success of the Kushaq and Slavia in their respective segments. Post its launch, Skoda’s compact SUV will be its first sub-4-metre model after the Fabia.
As per a report by Autocar, it is anticipated that Skoda Auto will be revealing the details about the upcoming compact SUV on February 27. This compact SUV is expected to be a smaller counterpart of the Skoda Kushaq. Moreover, it is likely that it will be built on the same MQB-A0 (IN) platform that is also utilised in the Skoda Slavia and other models of the VW group like the Virtus and Taigun.
Skoda Compact SUV - Engine Specs
In terms of engine specs, the upcoming Skoda compact SUV will be equipped with a smaller 1.0-litre TSI engine instead of the 1.5-litre TSI engine which is available with the Kushaq and Slavia. This 1.0-litre TSI engine is anticipated to produce a power output of 110 bhp.
Skoda Compact SUV - Launch in India
This upcoming compact SUV from Skoda is expected to be launched in India in March 2025. Volkswagen and Skoda have similar products in their lineup in the country due to being part of the same parent company. However, it is not yet known if Volkswagen will also be introducing a compact SUV model in the country. Volkswagen has plans to focus on increasing EV growth in the country, therefore only time will tell if we will be seeing a VW compact SUV as well or not.

Skoda Compact SUV - Rivals
Post the launch of this compact SUV, it will enter the competitive compact SUV segment in the country where it will face competition from other popular models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. Moreover, it is likely that Skoda will also export this model to other Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern and North African markets from India.
