Skoda Kylaq CNG: Skoda Kylaq is the brand’s most affordable offering in India, and it has attracted a lot of attention since its launch. Now, the German carmaker is planning to equip its recently launched compact SUV with the CNG powertrain. The CNG powertrain is registering a huge demand in India currently, and the brand is planning to expand its presence by offering more powertrain options to the customers.
The launch timeline of the CNG powertrain for the Skoda Kylaq has not yet been announced as the brand is currently working on it. However, it might not be difficult for the company to offer a CNG powertrain as its Octavia, Citigo, and Scala cars are already available with a CNG powertrain in the global market.

The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, and the brand is looking forward to pairing it with a CNG unit. However, it will not be the first car to feature a CNG powertrain with a petrol engine. Tata Nexon is already available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine integrated with a CNG unit. The Kylaq will rival the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Nissan Magnite post its CNG upgrade.
Currently, the Skoda Kylaq is available in India with 3 trims on offer called classic, signature, and prestige. The Kylaq is priced between Rs 8.25 lakhs (Ex-showroom) and Rs 13.99 lakhs (Ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. The Skoda Kylaq can be bought with a manual or an automatic transmission.
