Tata Motors is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India, recently launched the Tata Nexon.ev for the Indian market. Tata Motors has very actively been venturing into the EV segment of the country with plans to significantly capture the electric vehicle market of the country. It is known that Tata is also planning to launch the EV iteration of its popular compact SUV, Tata Punch soon. The Punch EV has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads revealing essential details about the car.

Punch EV - Design 

Recent spy pictures of the Tata Punch EV have revealed that it will get new LED headlights that look similar to those on the Nexon EV. It will also get new LED daytime running lights, a refreshed grille and bumper, 5-spoke alloy wheels and rear wheel disc brakes. Like other Tata cars, the Punch EV is also expected to have connected LED tail lights.

Punch EV - Interior 

The interior details of the Punch EV aren’t visible but it is expected that the Punch EV will get a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, similar to the one in the new Nexon. Additionally, there might be a 7-inch or 10.25-inch infotainment system, a rotary-style gear shifter and a new instrument cluster showing EV-related info. The interior will have a teal blue theme, like other EV models from Tata.

Punch EV - Powertrain 

The Punch EV is likely to use Tata's Ziptron powertrain technology and will be made on the ALFA platform, using Tata's gen-2 EV architecture. It will have a liquid-cooled battery system and a front-wheel-drive setup with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Taking inspiration from Tata's previous electric models like the Tigor.ev, Tiago.ev and Nexon.ev, it is likely that the Punch EV will come with two battery size options - Medium Range and Long Range.

Punch EV - Launch 

Post its launch, the Tata Punch EV will be the fourth EV from the manufacturer after the Tigor.ev, Tiago.ev and Nexon.ev. It is expected that Tata will be launching the Punch EV for the Indian market in the upcoming months.
