Tata Sierra SUV 2025: After weeks of teasers, Tata Motors has officially unveiled the Sierra, marking the revival of India's first indigenously developed SUV. For the first time since it went out of sale in 2003, the Tata Sierra made its initial appearance in a near-production-ready concept form at the Auto Expo 2025. The newly unveiled Sierra is a clever nod to the original 1991 SUV we all acknowledge, but now brings modern tech.
Tata Sierra SUV: Design
The Tata Sierra retains the upright and boxy styling of the original SUV, and gets a black roof insert to mirror the signature curved-over rear windows. A high-set bonnet and squared-off wheel arches are some of the other familiar traits inherited from the donor model. That said, a split headlamp setup, connected light signatures, flush door handles, faux skid plates, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are what set the 2025 Sierra apart from the OG vehicle. It has a sharper roofline and features a 5-door layout versus the OG's 3-door layout.

Tata Sierra SUV: Powertrain
Technical specifications are under wraps, but the Tata Sierra ICE is expected to get a 168bhp, turbocharged petrol engine and a 116bhp, 1.5-litre diesel mill. Both manual and automatic gearbox options are expected to be available. The electrified version will also be offered in India, albeit at a later stage.
Tata Sierra SUV: Features
The dual-tone theme continues on the inside, too. The cabin further features a 4-spoke steering wheel (with an illuminated Tata logo), a three-screen setup (a central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a passenger's display), an auto-dimming IRVM, a panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a JBL music system (with Dolby Atmos). Safety-wise, the SUV offers a 360-degree camera, 3-point seatbelts, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an ADAS suite.

Tata Sierra SUV: Price, Rivals
With the updates, Tata could target a range of Rs 15 lakh–Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Sierra ICE will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and the upcoming Renault Duster upon launch on November 25.
