TVS has recently launched their much anticipated electric scooter, TVS X the foundation of which lies inthe Creon concept introduced by TVS back in 2018. TVS X bears a strong resemblance to the TVS Creon externally and internally, but there are also some clearly visible differences.

A concept undoubtedly goes through significant changes by the time it reaches its final production stage. Though TVS has tried not to deviate majorly from the concept that was initially introduced, here’s a more detailed comparison of the newly launched TVS X and the TVS Creon concept.

TVS X vs TVS Creon - Design and Structure

A few visible differences between the concept and production versions have been noted. The TVS X has a two seat layout instead of the Creon's single rider seat and covers for both brake levers. Vertical slit-style headlight in the front and the angular looks on the apron have been retained from the Creon concept. The blue aluminium frame of X's under seat panels is clearly visible, unlike the Creon's, which had it covered beneath its bodywork. An efficient single-sided swingarm, an offset rear monoshock, and the front telescopic fork have all been carried over from Creon's chassis. The Creon concept already included disc brakes at both ends, but TVS X has also incorporated single-channel ABS, making it the first e-scooter in the nation to do so.

TVS X vs TVS Creon - Technological Features

The Creon prototype included a colour TFT display, but the X now features a significantly larger 10.25 inches touch screen display, with a wide range of features, that lets you connect the scooter to your phone and smartwatch and gives on-board navigation. The wallpaper and the arrangement of the icons can all be changed. This display was developed in collaboration with Intel and has a Smart Xhield technology which shows alerts for crashes, overspeeding, theft alarm, geofencing, etc.

TVS X vs TVS Creon - Motor, Battery and Performance

The motor, battery and the performance of the two scooter also varies as the TVS X has 11kW, passive RAM-air-cooled motor instead of Creon’s 12kW liquid-cooled motor. In terms of range, TVS X boasts a range of 140 km paired with a 3.8 kWh battery, whereas the Creon featured 3 separate Li-ion battery packs claiming a range of 80 km. TVS X can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 4.5 seconds in comparison to Creon’s claimed time of 5.1 seconds. The Creon claimed a fast charging time of 0-80 per cent in 60 minutes, whilst the X offers a more realistic charging time of 0-50 per cent in 50 minutes with an optional 3kW fast charger.
