German automobile giant Volkswagen has expanded its lineup by introducing the all-new Tayron SUV in the global market. The new Volkswagen Tayron has been launched as a replacement for the Tiguan Allspace. It will first be launched in China as the Tiguan L Pro, followed by other international markets.
Volkswagen Tayron - Powertrain
The new Tayron is built on Volkswagen's MQB EVO platform, the same one used for the latest Tiguan and the new Skoda Kodiaq which helps in enhancing its overall quality. Talking about the powertrain, it is available with two engine options - a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with an additional 48V mild-hybrid setup for both the engines.
Volkswagen Tayron - Design and Appearance
The brand-new Tayron looks quite similar to the latest Tiguan in terms of design. The front fascia of the SUV boasts LED headlights, Day Running Lights (DRLs) and a Volkswagen logo on the front grille. The lower part of the front also has chrome details that add a touch of elegance. The SUV features body-coloured door handles, roof rails and automatic side mirrors with integrated turn indicators.
To give it a more striking appearance, the Tayron has been fitted with bold and stylish alloy wheels, with a touch of chrome. In terms of size, the Tayron is larger than the latest 5-seater Tiguan. It measures 1,859mm in width, 4,735mm in length, and 1,682mm in height. It also has a 111mm longer wheelbase, which is an improvement compared to the Tiguan.
