The Saran district of Bihar has been selected for a central government scheme to connect every state village through the Internet. Under Bharat Net UdyamiYojana, all rural houses of Saran district will be given free optical fibre connections. Officials stated that a landline phone will also be installed along with a free internet connection.
The project aims to complete laying 105 kilometres of optical fibre in the district by March 2024. Every village in the Saran district will be connected through an optical fibre gateway from three directions, ensuring uninterrupted internet connectivity.
Saran Lok Sabha MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy said the broadband connection will empower the rural areas and provide them with various benefits. Rudy said that the government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has realised the impact of the Internet and is committed to providing it to every village.
The BJP MLA said the internet is a tool of infinite possibilities and one of the best gifts given by science to man. He said that the internet will enable rural people to get treatment from global doctors, save money on children’s education, access important information, avail the benefits of government schemes, and generate income.
