Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: 49 Lakh Voters To Decide Fate Of 149 Candidates At 14 Seats In Patna

Patna is ready and prepared for the polling in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections today. The voting, which started at 7:00 am, will continue till 6:00 pm.

As many as 48,30,135 electors will use their right to vote to elect their representatives at 5,677 polling booths across all 14 assembly seats.

As part of the preparations, approximately 31,000 polling personnel, including Central Armed Forces personnel (CAPF), have been deployed at all polling booths since Wednesday afternoon. 541 women's booths, 49 model booths, 14 disabled polling stations, and three youth booths will make this celebration of democracy special.

This time, the highest number of voters, 11,81,726, is between the ages of 30 and 39. The number of first-time voters is 85,892, while 33,000 are senior citizens over the age of 85.

To ensure a peaceful, fair and transparent voting process, the district administration has set up control rooms at the district, each assembly constituency, and block level so that any complaint or problem can be resolved immediately. Furthermore, any problem related to voting can be resolved by contacting the toll-free helpline number 1950.

What did District Election Officer say?

District Election Officer and DM Dr Tyagarajan SM said that after the voting ends on Thursday evening, after 6 pm, all polled EVMs will be kept at the AN College. EVMs and VVPATs will be kept at the counters set up for each assembly constituency.

The district administration has ensured excellent arrangements at polling stations for all voters, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and women, to ensure a festive atmosphere.
