Amid rising concerns over declining exam standards, the Education Department and the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) have enforced stricter rules for this year’s sent-up examinations. The Intermediate sent-up exam will be held from November 19 to 26, while the Matriculation sent-up exam is scheduled from November 19 to 22, both conducted at the school level.
This time, only students with 75 per cent or higher attendance will be allowed to appear. Passing the sent-up exam has been made mandatory, students who fail or remain absent will not be permitted to sit for the 2026 annual board exams, and their admit cards will not be issued.

District Education Officer Kumar Arvind Sinha said the exams will be conducted in two shifts, 9:30 am to 12:45 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm, with an additional 15 minutes allotted for reading the question paper.
The BSEB has supplied question papers and examination materials to the DEO office, which are being distributed block-wise through eight centres. Headteachers have been instructed to collect the papers within the specified timeframe and ensure complete confidentiality. Any lapse will be taken seriously.
