Bihar News: The continuous rainfall in Bihar has led to a flood-like situation in several districts, including Buxar, Bhagalpur, and Patna. The key rivers of the state, Ganga, Kosi, and Budhi Gandak, are flowing above the danger mark at six regions of the state. The weather department stated that while the situation is not alarming yet, the water level is likely to further increase in the upcoming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that these regions are likely to receive light rain in the upcoming few days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the Central Water Commission (CWC) stated that the rivers have crossed the danger mark at six places and the warning level at nine places. The department further stated that Ganga has crossed the danger line at Buxar, Gandhi Ghat of Patna, Hathidah, and Kahalgaon of Bhagalpur. The CWC further stated that rivers flowing through districts like Vaishali, Munger, and Katihar are touching the warning level.

The department further stated that all the preparations are being made to avoid any major issue in these regions. While providing details, it stated that the officers and engineers of the Water Resources Department are engaged in monitoring in these districts. The CWC stated that a total of 4,881 security personnel have been deployed to monitor the embankments in 27 flood-affected districts.

It further stated that their deployment has been done as per the standard of one security personnel per kilometer. Apart from this, a special QR code system has been developed to provide convenience to the security personnel. The hydrograph of CWC shows that the water level of Ganga at Gandhi Ghat in Patna has increased by 50 cm in just three days. It further stated that the same trend was witnessed in Kahalgaon of Bhagalpur.
