After enduring oppressive heat for the past three to four days, residents got a much-needed relief on Friday as dense clouds gathered and heavy rainfall lashed the area around 3 pm. According to the meteorological department, the rainy spell is expected to continue over the next three days. 

UP Weather Today: Alert In Eastern Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for over 10 districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday. Although the capital city is expected to experience cloudy skies, there is a possibility of sunshine in the afternoon, with light to moderate rainfall likely in the late evening and night.

The weather department has issued an alert for excessive rainfall in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, and surrounding areas, with winds expected to gust up to 40 km/h. Additionally, thunderstorms are predicted in over 40 districts, with lightning alerts issued.

According to the meteorological department, the region witnessed significant rainfall on Friday, with 12 mm recorded near the airport, 15.6 mm in the Kursi Road area, and 27 mm in Aliganj. The rainfall was accompanied by winds gusting up to 40-50 km/h. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature dropped by 2.2°C to 35.7°C, while the minimum temperature rose by 2.2°C to 28°C.

UP Weather Forecast: Heavy Rainfall On Sunday

Sunday is expected to bring heavy rainfall to several districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Agra, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Lalitpur. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
