Bihar Election 2025: With just two days left for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Election, campaigning will end on Tuesday evening. After that, candidates will have only 24 hours to go door-to-door with local supporters in a final attempt to woo voters.
Voting in the first phase will be held on November 6 across 121 assembly constituencies in 18 districts. A total of 3,75,13,302 voters will decide the fate of 1,314 candidates through EVMs. The Election Commission has instructed observers to ensure a festive and encouraging atmosphere on polling day to boost voter turnout.
The Commission has also issued directives regarding mobile deposit facilities, new VIS slips, promotion of the ECINET app, 100 per cent webcasting from booths, and real-time vote reporting. The ECINET app provides citizens and election officials with access to voter registration details, electoral rolls, polling station locations, and live election updates.
To ensure smooth and peaceful polling, 121 general observers, 18 police observers, and 33 expenditure observers have been appointed.
According to Jagran.com, a total of 45,324 booths have been set up, including 36,733 in rural areas and 8,608 in urban areas. Of these, 926 booths will be staffed by women, and 107 by persons with disabilities. Additionally, 320 model booths have been created. On average, 827 voters will cast their votes per booth.
On Monday, top political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, campaigned intensively as the countdown to the first phase began.
