Mokama Election 2025: Voting has begun in the high-octane seat of Mokama at 7 AM for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Mokama has gained the spotlight after the Dular Chand murder case and the arrest of former MLA and JDU candidate Anant Singh, which has led to a tightening of security arrangements in the area. Police and security forces have been deployed at every booth.
The main political contest this time is between Anant Singh of JDU, while Veena Devi is the RJD candidate, shouldering the responsibility of the political legacy of her husband Suraj Bhan Singh. Jan Suraaj Party’s Piyush Priyadarshi is also in the fray as the newest contender.

How Will Voting Patterns Be Affected In Mokama?
According to political experts cited by Jagran.com, the recent clashes between political heavyweights have made grassroots politics more prominent.
The direction of the Bhumihar vote will likely be the key to the electoral trend in Mokama. Both Veena Devi (RJD candidate), wife of former MP Suraj Bhan Singh, and Anant Singh, the JDU candidate, come from the Bhumihar caste.
Earlier, a prediction was there that there would be a split in the Bhumihar vote. However, political equations have changed after the Dular Chand murder case. Now, there is a possibility that the Bhumihar votes may unite in favour of Anant Singh.
