Bihar Election 2025: With only three days remaining for the filing of nominations for the 11 assembly seats in Muzaffarpur district, National Democratic Alliance NDA is yet to finalise candidates for three key constituencies: Muzaffarpur City, Paru, and Bochahan.
Among these, Bochahan is expected to be contested by a candidate from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Meanwhile, Paru and Muzaffarpur City are BJP-held seats. However, the BJP has yet to announce its candidates for these two constituencies.
According to jagran.com, there is no major dispute regarding the Paru seat, and a candidate may be announced soon. The primary concern within the alliance appears to be over the Muzaffarpur City seat, which remains undecided due to internal deliberations.
The candidate for the city seat was finalised shortly before the BJP released its first list, but the announcement was held back at the last minute. The primary reason appears to be the high number of aspirants for this particular seat. The party has strategically delayed the announcement to minimise the risk of rebellion and ensure smoother management of internal dissent in the days to come.
Despite this, the major alliances have not announced their candidates for all seats. The NDA has announced its candidates for eight seats. Among these, the ticket of sitting MLA Ramsurat Rai from Aurai has been cancelled.
Rama Nishad, wife of former Congress MP Ajay Nishad, who joined the BJP, has been declared the candidate. RJD has given symbols to all four sitting MLAs.
Shankar Prasad has been given the symbol from Paru. A decision is still pending on the remaining six seats. These seats are to be determined for the Congress, VIP, and CPI(ML). Jan Suraaj has also been given its symbol on some seats. The party has nominated Ashok Singh from Gaighat.
From the NDA, the BJP nominated Minister Raju Kumar Singh from Sahibganj, Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta from Kurhani, Arun Singh from Baruraj and Rama Nishad from Aurai.
Rama Nishad is a former chairperson of the Hajipur Municipal Council. She lost this time in the municipal elections. Meanwhile, the JDU announced its candidates for four seats.

Komal Singh from the most talked about Gaighat seat, Ajit Kumar from Kanti, Ajay Kumar from Meenapur and Aditya Kumar from Sakra have been declared candidates.
None of these are current MLAs. Aditya Kumar is the son of MLA Ashok Chaudhary. The RJD has given its symbol to former minister Israil Mansuri from Kanti, MLA Amar Paswan from Bochahan, MLA Niranjan Rai from Gaighat, and Munna Yadav from Minapur.
The party had previously given the symbol, but withdrew it late Monday night. This delayed Bochahan MLA Amar Paswan's nomination scheduled for Tuesday. Meanwhile, the RJD has given the RJD's symbol to Shankar Prasad from Paru. He had finished second as an independent in the last assembly elections.
