Janata Dal (United) (JDU) on Wednesday released the first list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly Elections. JUD has put forth three strongmen and six ministers this time. On Sunday, the NDA announced the seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming elections. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and JDU are set to contest equal number of seats, 101 each, out of the total 243.
Who All Are Included In JDU's List
Influencial Leaders Fielded By JDU: Anant Singh from Mokama, Dhumal Singh from Ekma, and Amrendra Pandey from Kuchaikot.
JDU Nominates Six Ministers: Vijay Kumar Chaudhary (Sarayarajan), Shravan Kumar (Nalanda), Madan Sahni (Bahadurpur), Maheshwar Hazari (Kalyanpur), Sunil Kumar (Bhore), and Ratnesh Sada (Sonbarsa).
CM Nitish Kumar and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan had found themselves at odds for the Sonbarsa seat. At present, the seat is held by JDU leader and Minister Ratnesh Sada and the party has fielded him once again.
Manoranjan Singh, also known as Dhumal Singh has been declared JDU’s candidate from Ekma seat. Dhumal Singh has over 100 cases registered against him in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jharkhand. In his affidavit for the 2015 assembly elections, the leader had stated that he had nine criminal cases pending against him. These included four murder cases and one attempted murder case.
With BJP and JDU being equal partners this time, the change clear signal that the BJP’s vote share has been rising steadily, while the JDU’s has dropped sharply over the past four elections.
