Bihar Election Result 2025: The Bihar Assembly Election 2025 has changed the state’s politics completely. In two phases on November 6 and 11, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 202 seats with a huge majority. The Mahagathbandhan was reduced to just 34 seats.
According to the Election Commission, the total voter turnout was 67.13%, the highest since 1951. This was the most peaceful election in Bihar’s history. There was no re-polling, no violence, and no deaths reported during voting.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take the oath for the 10th time, a record in Indian politics. The BJP won 89 seats and became the largest party in Bihar for the first time. The RJD slipped to third place with 25 seats.

Left parties, rebels, and turncoats got almost no support. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj failed to win even one seat. Caste influence decreased. The MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation broke down.
The opposition suffered due to internal fights and memories of jungle raj. With this massive win, Nitish Kumar returned stronger than ever. The Lalu family is in shock after the big loss. Tej Pratap left earlier, and now the daughters are also speaking out.
Tejashwi Yadav blamed a conspiracy for the defeat. But experts say women’s schemes like Kanya Utthan and job creation were the main reasons for the NDA’s success. Out of 7.43 crore registered voters, nearly 5 crore cast their votes, a sign of a strong democracy.
The peaceful voting left Bihar’s violent past behind. The path for SIR (Special Intensive Revision) is now clear. The voting process became more digital and transparent. This result may give important hints for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
11 Big Records from Bihar Election 2025
-Highest Voter Turnout: 67.13 per cent voting, the most since 1951. It was 9.84 per cent more than the last election. This shows Bihar voters are now more aware and active. Digital campaigns and Election Commission awareness drives played a big role. SIR worked well. Women and youth turnout made it stronger.
-Record Women Participation: Women came out in huge numbers — a key reason for NDA’s win. Schemes like Kanya Utthan, cycle distribution, and women’s reservation brought them to the polling booths. Experts say women are now the deciding force in Bihar politics, a big change in a male-dominated society. It taught the opposition not to ignore women’s issues.
-Zero Re-Polling: For the first time in Bihar’s history, no re-polling was needed. This proves the process was fair and safe. Strict monitoring by the Election Commission, trust in EVMs, and strong security made it possible. Bihar now sets an example for other states where re-polling is common.
-No Violence, No Deaths: Not a single violent incident or death was reported during voting. Bihar has left behind the dark memory of 63 deaths in 1985. This peaceful election improved Bihar’s image, once known for violence and booth capturing. Police and administration ensured voters could cast their vote without fear.
-Over 5 Crore Votes: Nearly 5 crore out of 7.43 crore voters voted — a new record in participation. It shows people want to be part of politics. Rural areas saw a big turnout, helping NDA. Urban voting also reached a new high.
-NDA’s Massive Win: NDA won 202 seats — its biggest majority ever in Bihar. BJP: 89, JD(U): 85, LJP (Ram Vilas): 19, HAM(S): 5, RLM: 4. This shows the alliance is strong. It proves that Modi-Nitish teamwork works.
Nitish Kumar’s 10th Term: Nitish Kumar will become CM for the 10th time, a never-before record for any state leader in India. His long journey and good governance made him ‘Sushasan Babu’. This silenced critics who questioned his age and health.
-BJP’s Historic Show: BJP won 89 seats — becoming the largest party in Bihar for the first time. Best performance since 2010. Modi’s rallies, Ram Temple, and national issues helped. Equal seat-sharing with JD(U) kept the alliance balanced.
-JD(U)’s Best Performance: JD(U) won 85 seats — its strongest show since 2010. Nitish’s popularity and development work helped. Caste equations failed the opposition. This proves JD(U)’s key role in the alliance.
-AIMIM’s Rise in Seemanchal: AIMIM won 5 seats in Muslim-majority areas, showing new strength. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party cut RJD votes — a big blow to Mahagathbandhan. The rise is limited but could grow in future. MY equation weakened.
