Bihar Election Result: Jan Suraaj, which failed to win a single seat in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly election, has accused the NDA government of using Rs 14,000-crore World Bank fund for the polls. While addressing a press conference, the party's national president, Uday Singh, claimed that the fund was used in the beneficiary schemes to lure the voters. He further claimed that Rs 40,000 crore was used by the government in the past few months to run these schemes, adding that the money was used to "purchase" the votes. Apart from this, Singh also confirmed that the Jan Suraaj will continue to raise the issues of people.

"Since June, till polls were announced, Rs 40,000 crore was splurged by the government to purchase votes of the people through public money," Singh stated. "The scale was unprecedented. Even Rs 14,000 crore of the loan they received from the World Bank has been diverted for doles and freebies," he further claimed. While referring to the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana', Singh stated that Rs 10,000 was sent to women despite the model code of conduct, adding that it was a big amount for the voters.

"It must have been the first time that people kept getting the money till a day before voting took place, despite the model code of conduct. This was enough to sway women who may have been hand-to-mouth," the party presidents claimed. He also claimed that Jan Suraaj's supporters voted for NDA to prevent the Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD from coming to power.

"Many people, who would have given us a chance, ended up voting for the NDA out of that fear," said Singh, the former BJP MP. He added, "Let me make a distinction here. I am saying people had a problem with RJD, not with the Congress or other constituents of the opposition Mahagathbandhan," Singh stated.
