In the Bihar Assembly election trends, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears to be gaining a significant lead in many Muslim-majority seats. According to the trends, the NDA is on track to win at least 16 such seats.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) seems to be benefiting the most within the alliance. Additionally, Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas) is leading in six seats with a substantial Muslim voter population.
On the other hand, despite a strong campaign focused on employment and a new chief ministerial face, the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) is struggling to consolidate votes in its favor.
As per the latest trends, the RJD is losing at least seven Muslim-majority seats it won in the 2020 assembly elections, while the Congress is trailing in four such seats it previously held. In 2020, the RJD had won 18 of these seats, and the Congress had won 6. According to the 2022 Bihar survey, Bihar's Muslim population is 17.7 per cent.
Notably, the NDA alliance has established a decisive lead across the state, while the Grand Alliance is trailing. According to the latest figures, the NDA crossed the majority mark early in the day, with both the BJP and JDU showing strong performances.
The Grand Alliance (MGB) has fallen behind. The RJD has performed better than its ally, Congress, although it is still not able to match the NDA's lead.
