Artificial Intelligence (AI) is adding a whole new, entertaining twist to political campaigns in India. Election campaigning is no longer limited to just speeches and posters. Political parties are now using creative, and often funny, AI-generated videos to get their message to voters while also making fun of their rivals. As a result, these AI videos are going viral across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp.

The Main Players and Their AI Strategies

All major parties are jumping on the AI bandwagon, each with its own unique approach.

BJP's "Time Travel" And Satirical News

The BJP in Bihar has gotten particularly creative. They've launched a 'time travel' experience using AI to take voters 20 years back to the Bihar of the Lalu-Rabri era, aiming to highlight a lack of development. One such video shows a young man visiting a "shepherd school" from that period to showcase its poor conditions.

The party also created an AI news anchor with a buffalo's head for a satirical channel called "Tabela Times" (Stable Times). This anchor reports that opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav is planning to become a property dealer because he's afraid of losing the election. They even released a song with an AI video targeting their opponents, with lyrics like, "There were no roads, no lights. We won't give power to Lalu again, we will say goodbye to you, Tejashwi."

JDU's Focus on Progress

The ruling JDU party is using AI videos to tell the story of 20 years of progress under the Nitish Kumar government. They are sharing videos of his tours and key decisions as part of their "Sach ki Gawahi" (Testimony of Truth) campaign, where regular citizens share positive stories of change.

In a recent humorous AI video, the JDU showed opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav watching the news about a lunar eclipse (chandragrahan) and wondering aloud when his own swearing-in ceremony (shapathgrahan) will happen. The punchline in the video is that his dream of becoming chief minister will never come true.

RJD's Counter-Attack on Government Failures

On the other side, the RJD is using its own AI videos to attack the government's shortcomings.

In one video, a blogger with a monkey's face visits Patna University to question why the government shut down certain job-oriented courses. In another clip, two people are shown watching a speech by Prime Minister Modi. They comment that Bihar won't be fooled by promises and that the real issues are poverty, unemployment, crime, healthcare, and education. The video ends with them saying they will vote for a new "Tejashwi government."

Congress's Campaign on "Vote Theft"

The Congress party is also heavily using AI, with its main focus being the theme of "vote theft." Their satirical videos often target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders.

The party has shared an AI video series called "Bawal Podcast" (Uproar Podcast) and another featuring a "vote thief" character to mock the PM. In a powerful video, women, youth, and Dalits are shown raising their voices against alleged vote theft, sending a direct message: "The whole story of vote theft will now be revealed; your countdown has begun."
