Bihar Election 2025: Ahead of the much-hyped Bihar Assembly election, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday announced that apart from the Seemanchal region, his party will also contest the four seats of the Mithilanchal region. Owaisi further stated that the AIMIM will contest the Darbhanga Town, Jale, Keoti, and Bisfi constituencies in the upcoming polls. Earlier in the 2020 Assembly election, Owaisi's party managed to register victory on five of the 24 seats it contested; however, four of the MLAs later joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

While addressing a public rally, Owaisi stated that the party is ready to expand its horizon after witnessing a fair amount of success in the previous election. “After Seemanchal, AIMIM will now contest four seats in Mithilanchal,” Owaisi announced while the supporters cheered loudly. Owaisi stated that Tejashwi Yadav refused to include AIMIM in the Mahagathbandhan alliance, adding that his "arrogance" will make the RJD and alliance weaker.

"We tried to bring him on board, but he refused. This arrogance will cost him dearly. Your naivety will harm you. Your arrogance will make you weak. We are not afraid of anyone,” Owaisi stated. The AIMIM chief further stated that Tejashwi Yadav was allegedly not interested in stopping the NDA government from repeating the government.

“People used to say Owaisi is arrogant and doesn’t want to talk to anyone. But we were ready for dialogue — still, they didn’t want to talk to us,” he stated. “Now know who truly wants to stop the return of the Modi, Amit Shah and Nitish government — and who actually wants to bring them back,” Owaisi added.

Owaisi reiterated that the people of Bihar lack a party that represents the 19 per cent Muslim population, adding that he has no political ambition. “I have not come here to seek your votes and then betray you like those four MLAs who sold their conscience. I have come to choose a leader for that 19 per cent of people who fear neither RJD, nor Modi, nor Nitish,” Owaisi announced.
