The Bihar government has announced new responsibilities for 17 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and four Bihar Police Service (BPS) officers. Twelve IPS officers were transferred, while five were given additional charges alongside their current duties. The Home Department issued the notification late Tuesday night. 

Key changes include Pankaj Darad becoming ADG of the Anti-Terrorism Squad while retaining his responsibilities for Law & Order and the Special Monitoring Unit. Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, ADG (Vulnerable Groups) Crime Investigation Department, has been given the additional charge of ADG Prohibition.

Rakesh Rathi, IG Technical Services & Communication and Cyber Crime, has been posted to the Special Branch and relieved of his additional charge. Several DIG and SP level officers have also been transferred and given new responsibilities within various departments, including training, special armed police, crime investigation, and economic offenses. 

Among the BPS officers, Mamta Kalyani has been appointed Commandant of B-SAP 10 Patna with additional charge as SP CID. Upendra Prasad gets additional charge of SP Personnel (Two), Shashi Shankar Kumar becomes Commandant of B-SAP 12 Bhimnagar Supaul, and Kundan Kumar receives the additional charge of SP Law & Order.
