A Bihar government advisory on Saturday stated that the state government has escalated the digitalisation process of the land ownership details. The advisory confirmed that the government has already digitalised the documents of the last 30 years, adding that the remaining work is expected to be finished soon. The registration department had informed that they have completed the digitalisation work of 2.34 crore registered documents, adding that these documents were registered between 1995 and 2025.
The department further stated that the records of these lands and houses can be seen on the official website, adding that it will make the surveys easier. It further stated that the digitalisation of the documents will also solve several land disputes ongoing for years.
The registration department further confirmed that the next target is to digitalise a total of five crore registered documents from 1908 to 1990. It further stated that an agency has already been selected for the work, adding that they are expected to begin the work soon.
Apart from this, the advisory also stated that the department has achieved revenue targets in the last financial year. It stated that the registration department has achieved 102 per cent of the revenue target in the financial year 2024-25.
While the target was to collect Rs 7500 crore, the department successfully collected a total revenue of Rs 7648 crore. In the financial year 2023-24, this target was set at seven thousand crore rupees, against which a total of six thousand 170 rupees was received.

While providing details, the advisory stated that a total of 140 registration offices are currently functioning in the state. While a total of 102 sub-registrar offices are working along with the registration office in all the 38 districts, three new offices have been formed in 2025. It further stated that these offices have been created in Veerpur (Supaul), Sonvarsha (Saharsa), and Paliganj (Patna).
