Bihar Building Construction and Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Thursday directed officials to ensure the timely and quality completion of all departmental schemes, with a special focus on the proper maintenance of buildings.
The minister was addressing officials after releasing the annual calendar and diary of the Building Construction Department. He stressed that provisions for maintenance should be included in all new projects to ensure long-term upkeep of infrastructure.
Departmental Secretary Kumar Ravi and senior officials were present at the event. Secretary Kumar Ravi welcomed the minister by presenting him with a green plant. The calendar and diary feature photographs and details of various buildings constructed by the department across the state.
During the programme, the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCCL) informed that work is currently underway on 2,708 projects, of which 2,389 have already been completed. Work on the remaining 199 projects is progressing at a rapid pace.
The minister directed officials to complete schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra on a priority basis. He also instructed the department to ensure the installation of solar panels on the rooftops of buildings wherever feasible.
Managing Director of BSBCCL Kumar Anurag, along with other senior officials of the corporation, also attended the programme.
