Bihar Pink Bus Service:  With the aim of offering a safe and comfortable transport option to women, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has announced the expansion of the pink bus service. Starting September 2025, 80 new buses will be added to the fleet, bringing the total to 100 across the state. The expansion in pink bus services will provide women with an affordable and safer travel option, while easing the strain on other transport services.

Out of 80 new buses, 22 pink buses will be given to Patna. The buses will run in Patna and other districts, aiming to improve connectivity across the state.

In a major expansion of pink bus services in Bihar, 80 buses will hit the roads by September. BSRTC has informed that 30 new buses have reached the depot, and the remaining 50 buses will reach by the end of this week. Out of 80 buses, 22 pink buses will be allocated to Patna, bringing the total number of buses in the city to 30.

According to the officials, preparations are underway to run 22 new buses on different routes in Patna, Jagran.com reported. Applications have already been submitted for 10 buses, which are expected to be rolled out soon. Additionally, permits for 12 more buses will be taken soon.

Pink buses will soon operate on 10 new routes in Patna, including Patna to Hajipur, Paliganj, Bihta and Bailey Road. In the coming time, bus services will be expanded to some other routes, such as Kurji, Ashok Rajpath.

BSRTC Administrator Atul Kumar Verma said, “As soon as new buses become available, they will be deployed in other major cities, including Patna.”

For the safety of female passengers, women conductors and staff will be deployed in the pink buses. The expansion of the pink bus service in Bihar marks a significant step towards improving and enhancing the safety and convenience of female commuters.
