The political tension in Bihar has escalated as the war of words between JDU leader Ashok Choudhary and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has now entered the legal arena. In a move that has caused a stir in political circles, Choudhary has served a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Kishor.
The legal action follows recent allegations made by Prashant Kishor during a press conference. Kishor claimed that after the engagement of his daughter, Shambhavi Choudhary, Ashok Choudhary purchased land worth approximately Rs 200 crore through the Manav Vaibhav Vikas Trust. He specified that in the two years between the engagement and the wedding, five plots of land valued at Rs 38.44 crore were acquired through what he termed "suspicious financial transactions."
Ashok Choudhary has vehemently rejected these claims, describing them as "misleading" and the result of Kishor's "panic and frustration." He stated that the mention of property worth Rs 200 crore is a complete fabrication and has demanded an unconditional apology.
Choudhary further alleged that Kishor's accusations were a direct reaction to his own legal troubles. He pointed out that this is not the first defamation case against Kishor, who has already been summoned by a court to appear on October 17 in a separate matter. According to Choudhary, Kishor became scared after receiving the court summons and made these false allegations in retaliation.

This development marks a new phase in Bihar's politics, with leaders increasingly resorting to legal avenues to challenge their opponents. The JDU has indicated it will respond firmly to Prashant Kishor's attacks, setting the stage for an intense legal and political battle. It remains to be seen how Kishor will respond to the defamation notice and what direction this conflict will take.
