Bihar Assembly Election 2025: Voter slips for Bihar Election 2025 will be distributed only through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure transparency and maintain a systematic process. General Observer for the Sahebganj Assembly constituency, Ashish Modi, conveyed this during a meeting with all the candidates and their representatives at the Collectorate on Tuesday.
A Voter Information Slip (VIS), commonly known as a voter slip, is a document that carries several details about the voter, such as name, age, assembly constituency, gender, polling booth address, and the date and time of voting. It is issued by the Election Commission of India.
Ashish Modi also provided detailed information about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and emphasised the need for strict adherence to these rules at every stage of the election process.
He also informed the candidates that anyone with a criminal case against them must publish and broadcast details of the charges, pending cases, and any convictions in the prescribed format, three times, in both print and electronic media.
The candidates and their representatives present at the meeting were asked to ensure that they acted in accordance with democratic norms, adhering to all provisions and directives of the Election Commission.
In another update, this time, arrangements are being made for live webcasting at all polling stations for the assembly elections. On Tuesday, District Election Officer and District Magistrate Subrata Kumar Sen held a meeting with all concerned officials regarding this. He provided detailed information about live webcasting. The move will increase transparency and credibility in the elections.
Real-time monitoring and recording of all activities will take place from the start to the end of voting. If anyone attempts to disrupt the atmosphere at polling stations by causing disturbances or rigging, they will be immediately captured on camera, and action will be taken against those found guilty.
Everyone from the Election Commission of India to general observers, police observers, and district control rooms can monitor in real time through webcasting. This allows them to quickly intervene in case of irregularities without having to visit the site.
Live recordings can be used as legal or administrative evidence in the future. If a dispute or complaint arises at a polling station, webcasting footage can quickly be referred to.
