Bengaluru Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast week-long rain for Bengaluru as light showers hit the city on Wednesday morning. The weather body has warned of intensified rain activity, issuing a yellow alert till Sunday, October 26. The rains have caused severe waterlogging at multiple key locations making commute difficult for people and leading to traffic chaos.

"Massive LPA-type rainbands are active over South Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, and Central Tamil Nadu. The LPA is moving inland. Strong rainbands are affecting areas north of Chennai and across Tamil Nadu, with weaker rainbands pushing into South Interior Karnataka. Rain likely in Bengaluru and Chennai. #BengaluruRains #BangaloreRains #KarnatakaRains #TNRains #ChennaiRains,” a solo weather update stated on social media.

Coastal Karnataka Weather

October 22: Heavy to very heavy rain/thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Heavy rain/thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Uttara Kannada district.

October 23: Heavy to very heavy rain/thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.

October 24: Heavy rain/thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.

October 25: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.

North Interior Karnataka Weather

October 22: Light to Moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at a few places over Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalburgi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir districts.

October 23: Heavy rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag and Haveri districts.

October 24: Heavy rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Kalburgi, Vijayapura, Raichur and Belagavi districts.

Heavy rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban), Kolar, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura and Tumakuru districts.

October 23: Heavy rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu districts.

October 24: Heavy rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu districts.
