Bihar Assembly Elections: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal United (JDU) and their smaller allies announcing candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, disappointment is growing among those who hoped to secure tickets but have been left out.
One such video has gone viral on the internet, showing Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Abhay Kumar Singh breaking down in tears after being denied a ticket from the Morwa constituency in Samastipur district.
In the viral video, the LJP (Ram Vilas) leader can be seen crying uncontrollably while accusing party leaders of favouritism and corruption in the allocation of tickets.
Here’s What Abhay Kumar Singh Said In Viral Video
Expressing his frustration over what he described as the “ticket system,” Singh said, “Someone paid more money than me, that’s why he got the ticket. I am quitting politics now.”
“I have struggled for 25 years and contested elections for another 30. I can’t keep doing this anymore. Now, I want to be free from this struggle. I also want to ask all my associates to forgive me for any mistakes I may have made along the way. I no longer have the strength to serve you all. This ticket system has deeply troubled me. I trusted everyone again and again. I even tried running as an independent candidate. But I want to say one thing—to all the workers from every party—everyone who is in my position now, or will be in the future, will face the same challenge,” he added.
The LJP (Ram Vilas) leader strongly criticised the alleged “commission culture” in Bihar politics, accusing local leaders of widespread corruption.
“Everyone will only give you a lollipop, cream, rasgulla, chicken, and alcohol for 15 days or a month during the election. After that, 20% commission, 25% commission, and 30% commission will be extorted from you. Sahu ji was thinking that if I win again, next time we’ll take 35% commission. Vidyasagar bhaiya must also be thinking the same. Morwa will remain in its own condition,” he said in a video on Facebook.
He further alleged that leaders in Morwa have accumulated crores in property through illicit commissions and black money. “From 2010 to 2015 and again from 2015 to 2020, they looted Morwa. During five years, 17 sale deeds were registered, and despite negligible income, properties worth crores were acquired. All that was commission money,” he added.
The LJP leader, Abhay Kumar Singh, had contested from the Morwa seat in the 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections and was eyeing the same constituency once again.
NDA Seat-Sharing Arrangement
Initially, under the NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement, Chirag Paswan’s LJP was allocated 29 seats, including Morwa. However, on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s objections, the Morwa seat was shifted to JD(U), which fielded former MLA Vidyasagar Nishad as its candidate.
Disheartened by this decision, Singh took to Facebook Live to share his disappointment and reportedly declare his “retirement from politics.”
