The authorities on Friday stated that the reserved autorickshaw services have begun at Patna's Jayprakash Narayan International Airport. While providing details, the government advisory stated that the drivers will be allowed to pick up and drop off the passengers at the airport's multi-parking area. The autorickshaws were not allowed to enter the airport premises until now; however, the latest move will allow them to start the services. The decision is likely to significantly benefit the autorickshaw drivers and the passengers. The authorities stated that the autorickshaws were allowed to start the services after receiving multiple requests from the passengers and transport associations.

While inaugurating the services at the Patna airport, general secretary of the All India Road Transport Workers Federation (Bihar), Rajkumar Jha, stated that the auto drivers will receive English language training. "Drivers serving airport routes will receive English language training to better assist foreign travellers and non-Hindi speaking passengers from other states. A prepaid booth will be set up soon. Until then, drivers will carry placards to attract passengers," Jha was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

President of the Patna District Autorickshaw Drivers' Association Pappu Yadav stated that the decision will provide convenience to the passengers.
