Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall till October 6. The weather department stated that along with heavy rainfall, several districts are also expected to witness lightning, thunderstorms, and strong surface winds. It further stated that several Northern and Eastern districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between October 2 and October 6. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that the rainfall is likely to reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heat. It further stated that the water level of several rivers is likely to significantly increase due to the continuous rainfall. The IMD also stated that the capital city Patna and other nearby districts, including Jehanabad, Gaya, and Hajipur are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days.

The IMD further stated that the other districts, including Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar, and Kishanganj are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall till October 6. The weather department further stated that Patna recorded 0.2 mm of rainfall on Sunday, while Athmalgola in Patna recorded the highest rainfall of 72.2 mm. While the maximum temperature of Patna was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained around 26 degrees Celsius.

The IMD further stated that 32.8 mm of rain was recorded in Dobhi of Gayaji, 32.8 mm in Imamganj, 28.6 mm in Buxar, 26.8 mm in Sherghati, 24.8 mm in Mohaniya, and 22.2 mm in Dhanarua of Patna. Apart from this, 21.8 mm was recorded in Rohtas, 17.6 mm in Akbarpur of Nawada, 17.2 mm in Dinara of Rohtas, 16.2 mm in Piro of Bhojpur, and 16.0 mm in Chenari of Rohtas.
