Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that several districts of Bihar are expected to receive rainfall till June 3. The weather department said that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing relief to the residents of these districts from the scorching heat. It further stated that several districts, including Araria, Kishanganj, and Purnia, are expected to witness heavy rain along with gusty winds and thunderstorms.

The weather department stated that there is an alert for thunderstorms and lightning in all the districts of the state except Siwan, Chhapra, Vaishali, Patna, Bhojpur, and Buxar. However, it added that the capital city is also expected to receive light rain in the late hours of the day. The IMD stated that the recent change in weather led to a dip in the temperature in most of the districts. While the highest temperature was recorded in Gopalganj at 40.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature was recorded in Chhapra at 25.7 degrees Celsius.

The weather department also stated that 17 districts of the state received light rain on Thursday, adding that Punpun in Patna received the highest rainfall of 24.8 mm. The IMD also stated that Patna witnessed scorching heat on Thursday due to strong sunlight and humidity. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.9 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained around 30.5 degrees Celsius. However, the weather department also stated that the temperature is likely to reduce in the upcoming days due to the rainfall.

Earlier on Thursday, the weather department stated that apart from Bihar, several states, including Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, are likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
