In a bid to promote digital transactions and facilitate passengers, the Railways has announced a 3 per cent discount on unreserved ticket bookings made through the RailOne Mobile App.
Discount Scheme Details
According to the notification, this special facility will be applicable for six months, from January 14, 2026, to July 14, 2026.
Payment Modes: Passengers will receive a direct 3 per cent discount when booking unreserved tickets using any digital payment method on the app, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking.
R-Wallet Benefit: A 3 per cent cashback facility is already available for payments made via the R-Wallet.
Objective: Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, stated that the scheme aims to encourage passengers to shift from cash to digital transactions, making the ticketing process simpler, transparent, and convenient.

The RailOne app serves as a comprehensive platform offering multiple passenger amenities, including:
- Booking of reserved, unreserved, and platform tickets.
- Live train location, PNR status, and coach position updates.
- Meal booking and parcel tracking.
- Lodging complaints and suggestions.
Railway Board ED Inspects Patna Junction
Meanwhile, Railway Board Executive Director Mandeep Singh Bhatia visited Patna Junction on Tuesday to conduct a thorough inspection of passenger facilities.
Modernisation of Reservation System: During his visit, Mandeep Singh Bhatia specifically reviewed the reservation system. He instructed officials to continue the new OTP system for Tatkal ticket bookings smoothly and gathered feedback from staff regarding its practical implementation.
Facilities Check: The Executive Director inspected the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters, Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters, and 'pay and use' toilet facilities.
Cleanliness And Security: Special emphasis was placed on maintaining cleanliness in station premises and offices. He also reviewed security arrangements and passenger movement in the circulating area.

Commercial Manager Abhinav Sidharth, along with other officials, accompanied the Executive Director during the inspection.
