In Nardiganj Bazar, Bihar, six-year-old Anam Zoha, granddaughter of Mohammad Jainul Ahmad and Asgari Khatoon, has been observing Ramadan fasts with deep devotion. The daughter of Jinnat Parveen and Aftab Alam, Anam attributes her ability to fast to God's mercy, expressing her love for the divine as her motivation.
Wednesday marked her 25th consecutive day of fasting, a remarkable feat for someone so young. Typically, children begin fasting around the age of twelve, making Anam’s dedication even more inspiring. She wakes up for Sehri (the pre-dawn meal) and refrains from food and water throughout the day.
Anam is spending Ramadan at her grandmother’s home in the Muslim quarter of Nardiganj Bazar. Her grandmother, Asgari, shared that Anam was never pressured to fast—she chose to do it on her own. Initially, the family believed she might give in as the day progressed, but she surprised everyone with her perseverance.
Anam’s unwavering commitment to fasting at such a young age has touched the hearts of those around her, showcasing the power of faith and determination.
