Lalu Yadav on Sunday expelled elder son and party MLA Tej Pratap Yadav from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and family for the next six years for allegedly breaching the morals and principals set by him. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the RJD chief stated that the recent behaviour of his eldest son are not in accordance with his family values and traditions. Yadav confirmed that his elder son will no longer have any role in party and family from now on.
"Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. The activities, public conduct and irresponsible behaviour of the eldest son are not in accordance with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I remove him from the party and family. From now on, he will not have any role of any kind in the party and family," the ex-Bihar chief minister stated in his post.

He further stated that the people intending to maintain relations with him are independent and can take their decisions, adding that he has always in favour of public shame in such cases. "He is expelled from the party for 6 years. He is capable of seeing the good and bad and merits and demerits of his personal life. All those who will have relations with him should make their own decisions. I have always been an advocate of public shame in public life. The obedient members of the family have adopted and followed this idea in public life," Lalu Yadav added in the post.

The decision is reportedly taken after a post from Tej Pratap Yadav stated that he has been re-married after being in relationship for several years. However, the RJD MLA later claimed that he had not posted the pictures, adding that his social media accounts were hacked.
