Bank Holiday On Muharram 2024: For the convenience of the bank's customers, the RBI issues a list of public holidays every month, so that they can plan their branch visits accordingly. Banks across the nation will be closed for 12 days in July, according to the 2024 bank holiday calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

On July 17, 2024, banks will be closed in various Indian states to commemorate Muharram. Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and is of religious importance to Muslims, it is celebrated in various states of India. All public and private banks in various states will be closed on the occasion.

States to Observe Bank Holiday on July 17, 2024 for Muharram

Mizoram, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar, Bihar, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha.

Meghalaya will observe the U Tirot Sing Day holiday on the same date. This state holiday commemorates U Tirot Singh, a prominent freedom fighter.

Online Banking will be available

Customers can still use ATMs, online banking, mobile apps, banking websites, and net banking to access banking services even though the bank is closed on these specified days. The 12-day holiday in July will include national and regional holidays as well as the second and fourth Sundays and Saturdays.
