Gold Rate Today: Gold, which is considered a haven, fell in the domestic futures market after a US federal court overturned President Donald Trump's tariffs. The development caused a sharp decline in gold prices in the domestic futures market. On Multi Commodiry Exchange (MCX), the gold June 5 contracts were down 0.68 per cent at Rs 94,633 at around 10:23 a.m.

A US trade court ruled Wednesday that Trump had overreached himself by imposing universal duties on imports from countries that have a trade surplus with the US, blocking the implementation of his "Liberation Day" tariffs, according to news agency Reuters.

Gold became costly for holders of other currencies as the US dollar surged to 100.54.

Trump placed reciprocal tariffs on almost all of the nation's trading partners on April 2. But a week later, many of these nation-specific tariffs were suspended.
