Methods to Check PF Balance: If you are working with an organisation as a full-time employee, then you must be contributing a small portion of your salary towards the Employee Provident Fund (EPF). The EPF deduction is usually finalised during salary negotiation, and the same is being deducted and deposited into the EPF account linked to the employee's universal account number (UAN). As the EPF money does not hit the salary account of employees, they need to check the balance in their EPF account through different methods. However, very few know the methods and steps to check their PF balance.
PF balance can be checked using EPFO's official website, SMS, Missed Call or using the UMANG App.
PF Balance Check Through EPFO Website
- You need to visit the EPFO's official website.
- Navigate the "Our Services" option from the home page
- From the dropdown menu, select the "For Employees" option and then click on "Member Passbook."
- In the next step, you need to log in by entering your 12-digit UAN number and password.
- Select Member ID.
- Your PF Passbook and total balance will appear on your screen.
Steps To Check PF Balance Through UMANG App
- You need to have the UMANG App on your phone. If you don't have then download it from App stores.
- Log in to the app or create an account
- Next, go to the "All Services" section and search for EPFO
- Choose the "Employee-Centric Services" option.
- Now, click on "View Passbook."
- Enter UAN and submit OTP.
- Your Balance will be on your screen
PF Balance Check Via SMS
If you don't want to put in much effort, then the PF balance can be checked through SMS as well. To avail the service, your UAN must be active, and your eKYC must be completed. If you fulfil all the scenarios, then send a message in the format of "EPFOHO UAN LAN" from the registered number to 7738299899. Replace "UAN" with your 12-digit number "LAN" with the first three letters of your language. For example, HIN for Hindi, ENG for English.
PF Balance Check with Missed Call
If you're unable to check your PF balance via the internet or mobile app or find it too cumbersome, you can check your PF balance by simply making a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. The call will automatically disconnect, and you'll receive an SMS with your total balance and last contribution.
