Income Tax Refund Delayed Update: Many taxpayers are still waiting for their income tax refunds for FY 2024-25 (Assessment Year 2025-26), even though they filed their returns months ago. The refund process begins only after the return is e-verified, and in most cases, refunds are typically credited within four to five weeks.

However, delays can occur due to mismatched data, incorrect bank details, or other discrepancies. The officials have advised taxpayers to verify that their return information is accurate and to track the status of their refund through the official income tax portal to avoid unnecessary delays.

If the refund is delayed, taxpayers can file a complaint. Here’s a guide to the process.
