IndiGo Flight Cancelled Refund: Widespread disruptions across IndiGo’s network left thousands of passengers stranded on Thursday at major airports, from Delhi and Mumbai to Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, as the airline struggled to stabilise operations following the implementation of new airline safety rules. With the situation still unresolved, officials warn of additional cancellations and delays throughout the day.
In such situations, passengers are entitled to get refunds for last-minute flight cancellations. Here’s how travellers can initiate the refund process for cancelled bookings.
How To Get Refund For Cancelled IndiGo Flight?
Confirm Your Flight Status: Visit the IndiGo website or use the mobile app. Under ‘Manage Booking’ and enter your PNR and last name to confirm if your flight is cancelled.
Choose Refund or Rebooking: IndiGo allows you to either claim a full refund or rebook the next available flight at no extra cost. Choose the option accordingly.
Submit Refund Request Online: Go to the IndiGo refund page, choose “Cancellation/Refund for Cancelled Flight,” enter your PNR and passenger details, and submit the request.
Refund Timeline: The amount will be refunded to the original payment method, which usually reflects within 5-7 business days.
Cash Refund: Visit the IndiGo ticket counter where you made the booking and present your ticket along with a valid ID to claim a refund.
Booking via Travel Agents: Refunds for third-party or agency bookings will be processed to the respective travel agent; passengers should contact the agency directly in case of delays.
Track Your Refund: Monitor your email for refund updates. If the amount does not reflect within 7-10 business days, reach out to IndiGo customer support via the app, website, or call centre.
IndiGo continues to grapple with a significant operational crisis following the implementation of new Flight Duty Time rules, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights, with about 550 cancelled on Thursday. The airline has informed that it is working to restore normal operations, but passengers should anticipate ongoing delays and disruptions for the next two to three days.
