Union Agriculture Minister said that the Prime Minister would release the 19th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme at a function in Bihar's Bhagalpur on February 24.

Rs 3.46 lakh crore has been spent so far
Chouhan said the number of beneficiaries has gone up to 9.6 crore since the 18th instalment. The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in February 2019, is the world's largest DBT (direct benefit transfer) scheme and helps farmers bear the cost of buying seeds and fertilisers.
On Monday during his visit to Bihar, the prime minister will also inaugurate a milk processing unit being set up in Barauni and a centre of excellence under the Gokul Mission, Chouhan said.

Giving details about the event to be held in Bhagalpur, Chauhan said that it is estimated that about 2.5 crore farmers will participate in person and virtually. He said that the Bihar Governor, Chief Minister and Union Ministers concerned for the state will also attend the event.
