UP Social Media Policy: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government introduced the 'UP Digital Media Policy 2024' to favor influencers who have a large number of following on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. According to policy, social media influencers can be able to earn up to Rs 2 lakh to 8 lakh every month by spreading the good effects of schemes run by the Uttar Pradesh Government.
UP Govt divides influencers into four category
The government has created four categories of influencers based on the number of followers or subscribers they have. In the four categories established based on the number of followers on X, Instagram, and Facebook users may make Rs 2 lakh, 3 lakh, 4 lakh, and 5 lakh each month. Up to Rs 4 lakh, 6 lakh, 7 lakh, and 8 lakh rupees will be paid in four categories for creating advertising videos, shorts, or podcasts on YouTube.
To promote government schemes, arrangements have been made to pay them at varying fixed rates each month. Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Sanjay Prasad stated in a statement that the 'UP Digital Media Policy 2024 'would give a significant number of employment opportunities to residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Influences will have to Register
To take advantage of this policy, the agency or influencers will have to register with the government after which advertisements will be issued to them. The government intends to widely promote development and public welfare initiatives as well as accomplishments through digital media.
Who will make money through UP Digital Media Policy?
Under the UP Digital Media Policy 2024, agencies or influencers need to produce content, videos, tweets, posts, and reels on government schemes and accomplishments, for which they will be motivated through cash payment.
What has the government banned in the UP Digital Media Policy?
The government has said that no content should be indecent, obscene, or anti-national under any circumstance. The government has cautioned that legal action will be taken against the relevant influencer or agency for publishing objectionable content.
