Uttar Pradesh Government Hikes DA By 4% For State Employees; Details

DA Hike For Uttar Pradesh Government Employees:  Yogi Adityanath-led the Uttar Pradesh government approved a 4 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA)the  for state's employees and pensioners. It is a Holi gift for government employees working under the Uttar Pradesh government.

The state government has increased Dearness Allowance i.e. DA by 4 percent. Besides, Dearness Relief or DR for pensioners has also been increased by 4 per cent as well. The development will benefit about 10 lakh employees, 12 lakh pensioners and 8 lakh teachers of the state.

The revised DA will be effective from January 2024. A notification in this regard will be issued soon by the state government.

Earlier On Thursday, March 7, the central government announced a 4per centt increase in dearness allowance for its employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners.

The hike in dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 314 crore every month on the treasury of the UP government. Additionally, the take-home salary of state employees will go up. At present, the dearness allowance is 46 per cent, which will increase to 50 per cent after the latest revision. The increase in DA for Uttar Pradesh state employees has been approved by the Finance Department.
